On January 23, 2025, the 9th edition of the virtual visit to the European Commission took place, drawing significant interest from students and doctoral candidates of the Institute of International and Security Studies (ISMB). The event was divided into two parts, each offering unique insights and providing participants with valuable information.
The first part of the visit featured a meeting with a Spanish trainee who provided a detailed overview of the internship application process at the European Commission. She explained each stage step by step, sharing practical recommendations on preparing documents, meeting deadlines, and focusing on key aspects of the process. Additionally, she offered insights into the day-to-day work at the International Partnership Info Point, sharing her experiences and advice, which could be helpful for future applicants.
The second part of the visit included a presentation by Camilla Hagstrom, an expert from the Directorate-General INTPA G6 (Migration and Forced Displacement). She delivered a lecture on policies related to migration and forced displacement. Following her 30-minute presentation, a highly dynamic discussion ensued, enriched by numerous questions posed by Polish and international ISMB students. This exchange of views and questions added considerable value, showcasing the diverse perspectives of the participants on the topics discussed.
This visit provided a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge and deepen understanding of the European Commission’s work. Its popularity highlights the importance of such initiatives in the academic environment moving forward.
