The Institute of International and Security Studies at the University of Wrocław invites academic staff to participate in an esteemed publishing project: The Palgrave Lexicon of Security in the 21st Century. Western and Non-Western Perspectives, to be published by the renowned academic publisher Palgrave Macmillan.

This innovative lexicon offers a comprehensive exploration of international security, combining theoretical entries with practical case studies to illustrate the real-world applications of key concepts. Each entry will be peer-reviewed and published in accordance with the highest academic standards. The lexicon will encompass a broad range of topics, including military, political, economic, social, and environmental security, providing contributors the flexibility to select themes that align with their research interests.

Participation in this project offers significant academic benefits:

  • publication with a globally recognised academic publisher,
  • eligibility for points in the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s research evaluation system,
  • increased visibility and citation of contributors’ work in the international academic community.

The deadline for submitting short entries and case studies, in accordance with the attached guidelines and template, is June 30, 2025. Contributions in English are preferred.

If you are interested in contributing, please submit your proposed topic (and optionally, a corresponding case study) to the contact person: Wojciech Szczerbowiczwojciech.szczerbowicz2@uwr.edu.pl

Detailed editorial guidelines and a sample entry are attached to assist you in preparing your submission in line with publication standards.

Editorial Team:

We warmly encourage you to take part in this significant international academic initiative!
