
On May 20, 2025, the Institute of International and Security Studies hosted a lecture by Professor Matthew Schnurr, entitled “The Rhetoric and Reality of Digital Agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa.” The event brought together over 80 students from Poland and abroad, participating in various ISMB programs and courses.
Prof. Schnurr is a renowned expert in environmental politics, agricultural biotechnology, and development studies. He serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of International Development Studies at Dalhousie University in Canada.
His research focuses on the political ecology of agricultural innovation in Sub-Saharan Africa, with particular emphasis on the impact of new technologies on smallholder farmers.
The lecture was part of a project funded under the Erasmus+ KA171 programme.
