On 9 March 2026, Dr Nathan Price from the University of North Georgia (USA) delivered a lecture entitled “The European Union and Its Citizens” to students of the International Relations-Global Studies programme. The lecture was organised as part of the European Integration course and focused on the relationship between the European Union and its citizens. The speaker discussed, among other issues, the importance of strengthening the European Parliament’s role in response to accusations of a democratic deficit, as well as the phenomenon of populist opposition to European integration. He also referred to the results of the 2024 European Parliament elections.

On 12 March 2026, a second lecture by Dr Nathan Price (University of North Georgia, USA), entitled “Global and Regional Governance”, took place as part of the International Organizations course. During the meeting, the speaker explained the concept of contemporary global governance, presented its key examples, and discussed how regional governance fits within this framework. The lecture also included references to major theories of international relations, such as realism, liberalism, and constructivism. This lecture also attracted strong student interest.

Dr Nathan Price is an Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations and serves as Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of North Georgia. His research focuses on populism, the European Union, and electoral behaviour in Western Europe and the United States. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History at Miami University and obtained his M.A. and PhD in Political Science from Louisiana State University. His research interests focus primarily on European politics.

International academic events such as the lectures delivered by Dr Nathan Price form part of the long-standing cooperation between the Institute of International Studies and Security of the University of Wrocław and the University of North Georgia (USA). This cooperation strengthens the Institute’s internationalisation and enriches teaching by organising workshops, seminars, and lectures, including hybrid events.

The lectures and the expert visit were funded through a mobility grant from the Erasmus+ KA171 programme.

The lectures were organised by Dr Marek Musioł, deputy director of the Institute for International Cooperation.
