An international debate on the future of Europe, Polish–Ukrainian relations, and the responsibility of academia in times of war and contemporary crises is about to begin at the University of Wrocław. From 20–22 May 2026, the conference “The Future Is Already Here. Poland–Ukraine–Europe: A New Paradigm” will inaugurate the activities of the Polish–Ukrainian Cooperation Centre at the University of Wrocław.

The opening ceremony will feature, among others, the Rector of the University of Wrocław, Professor Robert Olkiewicz, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Paweł Gancarz, Deputy Mayor of Wrocław Ryszard Kessler, Consul General of Ukraine in Wrocław Taras Tokarski, and Paweł Terpiłowski from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv, an alumnus of the Institute of International Studies and Security at the University of Wrocław.

Researchers and lecturers from the Institute of International Studies and Security will also participate in the conference through panel moderation and expert contributions on geopolitics, security, migration, and the future of Europe.
