The Institute of International and Security Studies invites scholars and practitioners to participate in the International Interdisciplinary Academic Conference “The Future Is Already Here. Poland – Ukraine – Europe: A New Paradigm”, to be held on 20–22 May 2026 in Wrocław.

The conference aims to analyse the profound transformations taking place in Europe in the context of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, Ukraine’s European integration, and Poland’s role in shaping a new regional cooperation paradigm. The event will provide an interdisciplinary platform for dialogue among researchers, experts, representatives of public institutions, and civil society actors from across Europe and North America.

The conference will also officially inaugurate the Polish–Ukrainian Cooperation Centre at the University of Wrocław, whose formal establishment is planned for January 2026.

Conference themes include, but are not limited to:

  • the new geopolitical paradigm of Central and Eastern Europe,
  • democracy, civil society and societal resilience,
  • harmonisation of Ukrainian law with EU law,
  • culture, identity and memory,
  • economy, post-war reconstruction and sustainable development,
  • education, research and innovation,
  • digitalisation, artificial intelligence and new technologies.

The programme will include a dedicated student and doctoral panel, as well as accompanying events such as master seminars, translation workshops and cultural activities.
