From 24 May to 5 June 2026, the Institute of International and Security Studies at the University of Wrocław will host Professor Michael Butler from Clark University (USA), the IDUB “Long-Term Visits” programme. Professor Michael Butler specialises in international security, conflict studies, and contemporary diplomacy. In the 2013/2014 academic year, he visited ISMB as a Fulbright scholar.
During his visit, two events will be organised for the academic community:
- Professor Michael Butler will deliver a lecture entitled: “Transactional Diplomacy: Implications for Peace and Security in Europe and Beyond”.

- 2. Immediately after the lecture, Institute staff members will have an opportunity to meet with Professor Butler to exchange experiences, discuss potential academic cooperation, and strengthen international research networks.
