The conference Global Civil Society’s Value and Law Power Facing a Crisis of Values and Law: Ideas and Actions to Shape an International Order of Peace will be held at the University of Padova on November 11-12, 2024. The event will analyze and evaluate current civil society activities at the international level and strategies to promote human rights, democracy and peace. Speakers will include Nina Hall (John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies); Nina Reiners (Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, University of Oslo), Felisia Tibbits (UNESCO Chair in Human Rights and Higher Education, Utrecht University), Thomas Davies (Department of International Politics, City, University of London), among others. The conference is organized by the Human Rights Centre „Antonio Papisca” and the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights, Democracy and Peace, in cooperation with the University of Gothenburg and the University of Graz. The Institute for International and Security Studies is also a partner of the conference.
